Back in 2018, I wasn't just someone with a full head of hair. I was a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed UX enthusiast, freshly embarked on an exhilarating new career path. As a globe-trotting UX consultant with KPMG, I invested every educational dollar I had into volunteering at UXSTRAT—and it was a game-changer. That experience unveiled the true power of in-person conferences and the remarkable impact they can have on one's career trajectory.
Over the next five years, my journey spanned continents, each destination forging real connections in a field where passion was the common thread uniting the incredible individuals I met. Then 2020 dawned, altering our course. The face-to-face interaction that infused us with the vigor to revolutionize the world, one user experience project at a time, was suddenly out of reach.
Despite the upheaval, my career soared. I served some of the most renowned companies across various sectors and ultimately created what the industry recognizes today as Research Bookmark—a learning ecosystem that champions UX professionals at every career stage.
The world reopened its doors in 2022, and I had the honor of delivering the keynote at the prestigious UXI in the Netherlands. Witnessing the community reconvene reignited a spark within me. It dawned on me that while themes and subject matters are essential, the real value lies in the connections we make and the inspiration they breed. This realization was further fueled at UCXON Vienna, where I spoke about the odyssey of our profession.
I knew then it was time for Research Bookmark to host its own beacon of learning and connection. With a decade's worth of global insights—from volunteer to keynote speaker—it's time to curate a conference that encapsulates all that wisdom. UXCON is that dream realized.
